Monday, April 13, 2009 -- French international midfielder Frack Ribery wants to leave German powerhouse Bayern Munich and join Catalan giants FC Barcelona in the summer of 2009, according to his Bayern teammate Mark van Bommel.
Ribery has been linked with a number of clubs for quite some time now and his future at the Bavarians have come under pressure. He has been linked with moves to reigning Premier League and European champions Manchester United, Barcelona and mighty Real Madrid.
But it has now emerged that Ribery wants to join Barcelona. His Bayern teammate Mark Van Bommel, who played for Barcelona a few years back, has been quoted by the RAC-1 radio station as saying:
"Franck wants to play for Barca. He is a great player for [Bayern Munich]. He is the best player in Germany and his style of play would suit Barcelona's style because he is very technical and is strong going forward."
